Niue is a stunning atoll in the South Pacific, offering gentle adventures including snorkellling and walking through to whale watching, dives and even night dives for the really adventurous. With no shortage of beautiful areas to visit Niue has something for everyone. All prices below are indicative based on hire rates from Bucaneers Dive Store located next to Matavai Resort. 

Walking & Biking

What better way to see an island than by foot or by bike, get around the island and take either leisurely stroll or try some more vigorous exploring. There are tracks for everyone! 


Niue is full of amazing areas to go snorkelling, Avatele, Utoko & Limu Pools are just some of the favourite spots to visit. Keep an eye on the tides to make sure you're visiting at the best time and go snorkelling with tropical fish, sea anemone, sea snakes and more! 

In between yoga sessions why not take off and enjoy some time floating through the South Pacific Ocean exploring all this great untouched area has to offer. 

If you're lucky you may also bump into a pod of whales, migration season is July - October, or a pod of dolphins. What could be more magical than this!

Fins, Mask and Snorkel Hire - $15 per day // $75 per week

If snorkelling doesn't sound like you, why not explore the beautiful blue waters by Glass Bottom Boat allowing you to see everything going on underneath without getting wet! Tours start from $80 per person with a run time of approximately 2.5 hours.

Paddle Boarding

Paddling through the calm waters, with visibility of up to a 100m on a good day (and 50m on a bad day!) this is the perfect place to paddle along watching the marine life beneath you or taking in the breath taking views around you.

Whale Watching

July to October is peak whale watching times in Niue when Humpback whales come into the waters to breed and raise their calves. You can either just observe or interact with these peaceful creatures and enjoy memories to last a lifetime.

Whether you're keen to learn to dive or an experienced diver with your PADI certification there is something for everyone in Niue. Explore what lies beneath and see some of the most stunning underwater environments in the South Pacific. Below is the cost for a beginner course in Niue other options available online. 

SSI Try Scuba Diving Course 
One day course with some theory, a pool session and an open water up to 12 metre's deep with a maximum of 4 people per course. 
Courses run once weekly and will provide you with a participation certificate allowing you to be registered on the online system. Note this is not a dive certifying course.
Includes all dive equipment and dive instructor

$170 per person


Explore the abundance of caves and chasms around Niue's coastline. Either explore the various locations independantly or if you're looking for a bit more adventure join a tour and delve a little deeper. Some caves can be easily accessed while others require a guide.
